Hundreds attend opening night of “Painting Playboy” show at the Taglialatella Galleries in New York City
What a fantastic reception it was in Manhattan’s Chelsea art district for Burton’s “Painting Playboy” gallery opening on Thursday November 9th. The frigidly cold weather (29 degrees at show time) didn’t chill the crowd and keep the event from nearly filling the two-level Taglialatella Galleries. The invitation-only event unfortunately had to turn away hundreds of curious Thursday night Art Walk visitors who desperately wanted to join the boisterous group inside.
“This was, by far, the largest and most successful opening we’ve had since we moved to this location 18 months ago”, said Brian Swarts, President at Taglialatella. “We’re glad we now have the beautiful space to accommodate this many people, and to show off Burton’s fantastic work. This is a great show for us.”
Playboy’s CEO, Ben Kohn and his wife were in attendance from Los Angeles, along with other Playboy executives, New York art collectors, celebrities, and many, many friends and family of Burton’s from around the country. It was a great event and a wonderful location to kick off Burton’s latest Icon Series in New York style.
The show continues through December 8th. Taglialatella Galleries website »
